26 WEEK INTERVIEW
How far along?
26 weeks and 4 days!
Baby's size?
Baby is 14 inches long and weighs about 1 and 2/3 pounds! At the rate the baby is growing, it feels like my due date will be here very soon (and it will be! Just three months to go!)
Days until next doc appointment?
7 days until I have to do that fun little glucose test and have my blood drawn. I think I'm most dreading having my blood drawn though. Blek!
Total weight gain?
15.6 pounds
Maternity clothes?
I actually went out (yes, as in outside in public) wearing maternity leggings as pants. And it was glorious. Before anyone starts on the "leggings are not pants" debate, these leggings are kind of big on me - not tight or wedgie inducing, if you know what I mean. I also wore a long layering tank top underneath the sweater I was wearing. The maternity leggings I have are also actually only capris, so I wore a pair of my knee high winter boots and no one ever suspected a thing.
I have to say though, I'm so super thankful it hasn't been nearly as cold this year as last year. And the difference isn't so much because I have a nice warm baby with me at all times - but that it's been hovering around thawing temperatures for a few weeks now as opposed to the several months of -20 and colder like last year (: It's hard enough as it is finding things that fit when you're preggy - it doesn't have to be made harder by being ridiculously cold and having to find things that both fit and that can be layered 20 times over to actually stay warm haha
Stretch marks?
None!
Sleep:
I've been sleeping well most days. I've found I've been going to sleep later and later at night...but when I do sleep, I sleep like a baby. Or a teenager, if you want to get technical. But lately I've been having very vivid dreams. They're not the kind of dreams you can immediately remember when you wake up, or the kind where you feel like you can almost remember the dreams you had, but don't. They're the kind of dreams where you have so much on your mind all day long about all the things you need to do, that you end up dreaming about those things you need to do and actually do those things in your dreams. Then at some point during the day you think to yourself, "Wait. Did I ever actually do that? For the life of me it feels like I did that already. But I think that was just a dream. Or was it?" Talk about exhausting - doing housework and getting things ready for the baby all night long only to wake up and later realize you never actually did any of it. haha
Best moment this week:
Over the weekend, Jason put his head against my belly so he could talk to the baby. And within a few seconds Jason was feeling all kinds of little kicks! I think it's so special for him to experience that because I can feel the baby throughout the day but I can't get up close to my own belly and talk to the baby (or get kicked in the head by the baby hahaha). So it's a different experience for Jason, but there's things he can do that I can't do (: It's kind of neat that way!
Movement:
Oh my goodness talk about being active! It seems like the baby is up and about more of the day and lets me know it (: I feel tons of kicks and movements that feel like the baby is rolling around. Sometimes my little belly looks like a water bed when the baby moves a bunch haha
Food cravings:
I'm not really having any cravings lately!
Anything make you queasy or sick?
There haven't really been any foods that make me want to gag at the thought of them, which is always nice. I still avoid certain foods that I've known cause me acid reflux though. And even the thought of eating meat isn't so entirely unappealing anymore!
Have you started to show yet?
I would say that after last weeks post and a number of people saying so, that I am definitely starting to show! (: I just need to remember now that I'm starting to look pregnant, I need to keep my hands on my belly at all times when we are in public so strangers don't try to touch me haha
Missing anything?
The cake mix struggle is real.
Gender:
Labor signs?
No sir!
Belly button:
There are times when the top portion of my belly button becomes dangerously close to being level (flat) with the rest of my stomach, but most of the time it's still an innie!
Wedding rings on or off?
Still on! I did however notice for the first time a few days ago (while working out) that my feet were swollen! Not really bad or anything, but enough to notice that my toes weren't their usual skinny-selves. Thankfully they returned back to normal soon after I finished exercising!
Happy or moody most of the time?
I went through a few days of frustration and moodiness due to certain stresses going on in my life right now, but Jason always helps me through. Laughter is the best medicine (: And it really helps knowing that Jason just works a short week this week and then we have two weeks off together! How can I be moody when we have so many exciting things planned for the weeks to come? (:
Weekly symptoms:
Very itchy bumps on my legs, can't really bend over to pick things up (squats all day), lots of pee trips, acid reflux, rhinitis of pregnancy (nosebleeds), fatigue from standing/doing too much in one stretch, general fatigue. I did make myself take a nap over the weekend. It. worked. wonders. I wasn't flying over the moon with energy afterward, but it definitely gave me enough energy to get through the rest of the day without feeling so groggy and immovable.
Looking forward to:
Christmas!!! I feel like a little kid with how excited I am (: But I'm mostly excited to just be able to spend a lot of time with Jason over the next couple of weeks since he's been working so hard lately. I just love spending time with him! He's my favorite (:
