I often try to coordinate my outfit with the weekly chalkboard drawing.
So tell me, do I look like I belong in a corn field? I was going for corny farm girl chic.
24 WEEK INTERVIEW
How far along?
24 weeks and 6 days!
Baby's size?
Baby is about the size of an ear of corn! Just under a foot long and weighs 1.3 pounds! Baby is really growing now!
Days until next doc appointment?
19 days!
Total weight gain?
13.2 pounds
Maternity clothes?
I've bought into the lie that as long as they are solid in color, sweatpants and pajama pants are perfectly acceptable clothing for going out in public in.
If anyone questions it, they will have a very comfortable pregnant lady to contend with.
Stretch marks?
None!
Sleep:
So I've solved the pillow dilemma of 1986.
I'm using a large throw pillow from our couch that's soft and not too thick to elevate my legs at night. So Jason can have his one pillow back again. But if I need more pillows before the baby gets here, Jason will probably find himself pillowless once again.
For some reason I have this lingering feeling I'll be getting a lot of pillows for Christmas this year...
Best moment this week:
Some of the fabric I ordered for the baby's crib sheets and tummy time blankets have arrived so I'm excited to start sewing once everything gets here! (:
Movement:
The baby moves quite a bit now! There are several times a day where the baby will be moving around for a while before things "quiet down" again. I almost know when to expect kicks and twitches and movement because it seems to be about the same every day! Jason is amazed how there's that much of a party going on in my belly throughout the day (: The other night however, the baby was kicking DOWN if you know what I mean (ladies) and that. did. not. feel. good. This sweet child of mine is already a rambunctious little nut ball. Not at all like their parents or anything.
Food cravings:
I wouldn't say I've had too many "cravings". I haven't been able to eat meat much throughout my pregnancy because it makes me feel sick all day long. But recently I discovered that I can eat black forest ham without wanting to roll up into the fetal position and cry, so I've been adding it to my sandwiches and salads so I can get more protein! I guess you could say I'm on a bit of a black forest ham kick right now haha
Anything make you queasy or sick?
No but I do get acid reflux more often now. I try to start chewing gum right after I'm done eating to help keep it at bay!
Have you started to show yet?
How many weeks will it be until we get to the bottom of this question?
The world may never know.
Missing anything?
Being able to get up out of bed like a normal person! After my doctor measured my belly at my last appointment, she linked arms with me to help me sit up. I kind of feel like a ladybug who got turned over on their back and can't get up haha
Gender:
Labor signs?
Nope! And we are thankful to have made it this far! (:
Belly button:
Still an innie! It will probably be several more weeks before it starts popping out (:
Wedding rings on or off?
Still on (: They do get tight more often now.
Happy or moody most of the time?
Happy more often than not! I do get overwhelmed easier than normal though. But I know I'm probably just more stressed than I should be. I know if I just stop thinking about all the things people are expecting from me I wouldn't get so overwhelmed. It just seems like people become more and more demanding of you the further along in pregnancy you are...haha #yay
But I'm thankful for Jason who keeps me sane! Seriously, I dunno what I'd do without this guy to help me through life (:
Weekly symptoms:
Very itchy bumps on my legs, can't really bend over to pick things up (squats all day), lots of pee trips, acid reflux, rhinitis of pregnancy (nosebleeds - but it's been a lot less this week!), carpal tunnel syndrome, back pain if I stand for too long at a time, my feet start hurting when I stand for too long at a time, fatigue from standing/doing too much in one stretch. For example, over the weekend Jason and I were doing errands at a couple of stores in town (literally, two stores) and he said I was already looking like I needed a nap after we were done with the first one! haha After we went to the second store, I said we could just go home and do our last errand another day. You get pooped out quick when you're carrying a little baby around all the time!
Also - the other night I spotted my very first curvy "road" on the ball of my ankle. IfyouknowwhatI'msayin. This is the first one I've had in my life. I'm not one of those girls who freaks out about not being "perfect", so it's not that that freaked me out about it - it was having a vein on the surface of my skin that made me feel like I was going to pass out. ...Which is bizarre since I have really veiny body builder hands and those veins don't freak me out at all. (In fact, I love my veiny hands!) But this was a new vein that appeared, so... totally different sitch-e-a-shun. The vein on my ankle that was above the surface was only about an inch long, but for real, I do not do well with that stuff. I start seeing black dots and getting dizzy at the sight of anything that is supposed to be on the inside being on the outside. I did some calf raises while brushing my teeth right after I saw it which made it go down...but now I know it's there and can pop up at any time (literally) and now it's going to haunt my dreams forever. haha. Ugh, I get all weak and noodley feeling just thinking about it! I just gotta keep working out to keep my calves strong! Strong calf muscles hug those veins and keep them on the inside! Where they belong! Haha
Looking forward to:
Having time off with Jason in a few weeks (: It will be nice to get away from home and hopefully leave my worries behind (:

Ahhh, yours is a ninja as well, huh? ;) I recently felt my first jabbing movement in an uncomfortable area too lol.
ReplyDeleteAt my first level 2 ultrasound my baby was breech, so I had been imagining that all the sensations I was feeling by my ribcage were punches and everything lower was kicks. Since I have gestational diabetes I get a level 2 ultrasound in Hibbing every 4 weeks (I'm choosing to have my baby down there, versus in the Falls), and turns out the baby had completely flipped around! Sneaky little thing. :)
That's neat! So far I haven't been able to tell which movements are kicks and which are punches. Most of the time when I feel the baby making those bigger movements it feels like they are rolling around from side to side maybe - getting comfortable (: And even the more sudden movements don't really feel like jabs, they feel more like strong pulses. It would be interesting to know exactly what the baby is doing every time you feel them moving! (:
DeleteI'm one day behind you in my pregnancy, so of course I love reading your weekly updates. Don't love the varicose veins though! I don't blame you for getting all woozy. And I totally hear you on those errands. I just about fell asleep pushing the grocery cart on our second errand the other day. (The first being a quick stop at the post office!) I was watching my belly this evening and actually saw her kicking/punching on the outside! I hope you get to see this soon, it's really magical. Good luck in your next week!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it awesome?! I've seen my belly move quite a bit and it's really surreal! It looks like an ocean wave is rolling inside my belly haha. I love being able to see the baby move! This past week I have been SO exhausted. I thought the exhaustion was over once I was past the puking stage - I guess I was wrong! I may need to start taking naps again haha. Thanks for checking out my bumpdates! (: And congrats on your pregnancy! (:
