Look! I found a belt that still fits around my rib cage!*
*because it's a belt for pants.
20 WEEK INTERVIEW
How far along?
20 weeks and 6 days! We are officially halfway to meeting our baby (: I can't believe how fast it's going by!
Baby's size?
Baby is the size of a banana this week, measuring 6 1/2 inches from head to bottom (10 inches total height!) and weighs around 10 1/2 ounces (: It's so amazing that there is a person growing inside of me who is under a foot tall! I mean can you imagine being under a foot tall? And yet we all were at some point! (:
How was your last appointment?
It was great! I had my 20 week ultrasound. The ultrasound technician did more measurements on baby and checked baby's heart, brain, lungs, stomach, spine and so on and everything is looking good! It's amazing how much more we were able to see even though my first ultrasound was just a month ago. We clearly saw all of baby's little fingers and toes! I am so looking forward to seeing those little hands and feet in real life this Spring (:
Days until next doc appointment?
18 days!
Total weight gain?
9 pounds
Maternity clothes?
I actually found a couple pairs of maternity leggings in a box that I've had from running a little store way back when. I had decided to hang on to the leggings for such a maternal time as this and I forgot I even had them! They're really comfortable but not at all warm for wearing outside haha. But maybe I can layer them with a couple pairs of printed leggings. To go with my pink fuzzy Winter socks, of course. Oh yeah. Winter up here is definitely a time to be fashionable and glamorous. By "fashionable" I definitely mean not fashionable at all. And by "glamorous" I do mean completely ridiculous.
This is the time of year to look like a marshmallow. Or the Michelin man.
If the Michelin man wore pink fuzzy socks and multi-colored leggings.
It really is as bad as it sounds.
Stretch marks?
Nope!
Sleep:
I've been sleeping pretty well! Jason is now convinced he needs a body pillow just like the one I have.*
*a body pillow just like the one I "borrowed" from him.
Best moment this week:
Seeing baby during my ultrasound! (:
Movement:
I feel movement every day! Jason's also been able to feel more movement too! (:
Food cravings:
Broccoli and cheese! And I'm starting to like the idea of eggs. I'll warm up to Egg eventually.
There is no such thing as too many Arrested Development references.
Anything make you queasy or sick?
The idea of a mayon-egg.
Have you started to show yet?
I think my belly has, as they call it, "popped". I'm still quite tiny though. And I love it!
Missing anything?
No (:
Gender:
We changed our minds about finding out the sex of the baby! This is something we've been considering for several weeks now. I'll write more on that in a post next week along with some ultrasound pictures!
Labor signs?
Nope!
Belly button:
It's starting to look a little shallow...still an innie though!
Wedding rings on or off?
On! They do get tight from time to time.
Happy or moody most of the time?
Happy (: I do get more sappy and emotional now than I ever used to.
Weekly symptoms:
Fatigue, very itchy bumps on my legs, can't really bend over to pick things up (squats all day), lots of pee trips, rhinitis of pregnancy (nosebleeds), acid reflux, heartburn, vivid dreams, pelvic pain
Looking forward to:
March! So I can love on those sweet little baby feet (: And I am looking forward to working on the baby's nursery even though that's still over a month away. (We're making a trip to Minneapolis to buy everything for baby.) It's fun looking at ideas for the baby's room in the meantime (: And! And! Totally unrelated to pregnancy, but I am looking forward to getting our family room carpeted. The only flooring that has ever been in our family room is the subfloor. We've been wanting to carpet it since we moved in, but the time was never right. Well...there was an awesome sale going on this past week at Menard's and we got a really good deal! We still have to wait for the carpet to come in, but in the meantime I'm using it as motivation to get that room totally cleaned out. For several months it's been the dumping grounds where the last of my "moving" clutter goes. You know, the stuff that's left over after you deep clean/purge a room in your house and you don't know where to put it or whether to keep it or part with it even though you know you don't need it. Sentimental whatnots. But I don't believe in junk drawers/boxes so I need to sort through it all. I think Jason thinks buying the carpet was a good idea for that reason alone hahaha.
