17 WEEK INTERVIEW
How far along?
17 weeks and 6 days today!
Baby's size?
Baby is the size of a turnip! Baby is about 5 inches long and is supposed to be about 5 ounces, but at my ultrasound at 16 weeks the ultrasound tech measured baby to be about 6 ounces already!
Strangest discovery this week?
One. My belly is hard. Hard. I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting, but being someone who doesn't touch pregnant people's bellies I had no idea. (Because that's just weird to touch pregnant people especially if you don't know them and especially without their permission. And to the people reading this, please don't be that person. Sincerely, a pregnant person.) I guess I thought baby bellies would be kind of squishy. But then again, that wouldn't really make sense either.
Two. When baby does flips it feels like the feeling you get when you drive over railroad tracks. Not the part where your belly goes up, but when it comes back down. It's this weird feeling like you've got a water balloon inside of you with something inside of it, doing gymnast moves.
Which essentially is what all this is.
Days until next doc appointment?

Total weight gain?
5.8 pounds ...I think I may have had my first pregnancy growth spurt! I haven't been eating more than I normally was and then all of a sudden, bam! It's weird because I don't feel that much bigger and Jason could hardly believe me when I told him I gained 3.6 pounds in just one week.
Maternity clothes?
I really like pajamas. Also, it's getting really hard to put shoes on without sitting down. It's too hard to bend over already haha.
Stretch marks?
Nope!
Sleep:
I've been sleeping well for the most part. There have been a few nights where I am obnoxiously hot and can't sleep though. If we lived in California that wouldn't be all that shocking for this time of year but... One night this weekend I was so hot that I turned the furnace off and opened our sliding glass door a couple inches. The temperature outside at the time? 36 degrees. I finally fell asleep for the rest of the night after that. On the other hand, Jason said he kept waking up because of how cold he was. Oopsie.
Best moment this week:
Sleeping better and finally feeling good enough and making the time for working out again!
Movement:
Usually early in the morning I'll feel movement and then sporadically throughout the day. I hope that maybe sometime soon Jason will be able to feel some of these little twitches I feel. (:
Food cravings:
Broccoli with cheese.
Anything make you queasy or sick?
I still really don't like meat.
Have you started to show yet?
I think so!
Missing anything?
Mostly not having headaches and not being so itchy.
Gender:
We won't know for a few more weeks!
Labor signs?
No sir!
Belly button:
My belly button is still an innie, but it's getting bigger if that makes sense. Like if I wear a tight fitting shirt, you can see where my belly button is and it looks like a big crater haha
Wedding rings on or off?
On! I haven't had any issues with them feeling tight this week.
Happy or moody most of the time?
I'm still happy most of the time but I've had a few crazy hormone driven moments.
Last night I was watching Desperate Housewives. It was an episode after Carlos had gone blind and he was working as a masseuse at a country club. A coworker of his offered to give him a ride home and on their way out, Carlos asked the coworker if he could count his tip money for him. The guy counted the money for him, and there were $300 dollars in tips! Especially on a drama tv show, you might expect the coworker to have taken advantage of Carlos and stolen some of his money since Carlos was blind, but he didn't.
It wasn't even a sad scene and I had to try very hard not to break out into pathetic sobs.
Weekly symptoms:
Headaches, pelvic pain, low back pain, all over back pain, very itchy bumps on my skin, can't really bend over to pick things up (squats all day), can't stand for long periods of time without pain
Looking forward to:
I'm looking forward to my next appointment so I can ask my doctor a bunch of questions and I'm excited to keep looking at more baby names with Jason. (:
