weekly baby bumpdate {16 weeks} the first ultrasound!

Here's the first picture of our little one! (: I had my first ultrasound last Friday!

16 WEEK INTERVIEW

How far along?

16 weeks and 5 days!

Baby's size?

Baby is the size of an avocado (: 4.57 inches and the ultrasound tech measured baby to be about 6 ounces!

Also based on the measurements we were given for the head and body, Jason thinks the ultrasound picture is roughly a life-sized photo of baby! How awesome is that?! 

How was your last appointment?

It was great! I had my first ultrasound last Friday! I want to say thank you to anyone who prayed for us and for the baby because all is looking well so far! Truly an answer to prayer (: There is one baby (no twins this time!) Baby's heartbeat was 154 beats per minute. All the limbs are there; hands and feet, and everything is within the normal range (: With baby's measurements I'm measuring about 6 days ahead of the original due date of March 28th, but I think they're going to keep my due date instead of bumping it to the 22nd. As mentioned, baby's weight is about 6 ounces! It was hard to see everything that was being shown due to my angle to the ultrasound screen, but whenever the ultrasound tech showed a profile of baby's entire body I knew exactly what I was looking at! At one point baby had his/her thumb propped up right under their chin - almost sucking their thumb but not quite! (:

16 days!

Total weight gain?

2.2 pounds

Maternity clothes?

Things are definitely fitting snugger! I have to wear my skirts and leggings below my belly because otherwise it feels so claustrophobic haha.

Stretch marks?

No sir!

Sleep:

I've been sleeping a little better! I still have nights here and there where I wake up and can't sleep for a few hours, but I'm getting used to it. The sooner I get used to this, the better, right? haha

Best moment this week:

Seeing our baby for the first time at our ultrasound! Also, other than getting sick once yesterday, I haven't had nausea at all! I'm going on two weeks nausea free! (Except for the one time) Woo-hoo!

Movement:

Unless my stomach has just been really twitchy lately, I'm pretty sure I'm feeling little kicks! (:

Food cravings:

I still just love spaghetti, breadsticks, and apples. And blueberry bagels. 

I'm a simple person to please.

Anything make you queasy or sick?

Not really. There's definitely a lot of foods that don't sound appealing AT ALL to me, but at least the thought of them don't make me feel sick anymore (:

Have you started to show yet?

I would say so! But I think it's like you wouldn't know if you don't know, you know? 

It's really starting to feel more real now that my belly is getting bigger. I think I've moved out of the food baby phase and into the slightly more intriguing chubby phase.

Missing anything?

Sleeping on my stomach, not having mind boggling headaches haha

Labor signs?

No!

Belly button:

Well look, there it is. Inward.

If Jason was here with me, I would say to him, "Let's name all 20 of our children Inward. It's like Edward. But Inward. And I feel like the child would be a lot like Squidward. From Sponge Bob Square Pants."

Wedding rings on or off?

They're on still, but the other day they were feeling really tight. I don't know if I just needed to be drinking more water or if I was hot or what. Right now they fit just fine.

Happy or moody most of the time?

Happy!

Weekly symptoms:

Headaches, one bout of nausea, fatigue, pelvic pain, low back pain, all over back pain, rhinitis of pregnancy (nosebleeds), a magical number of trips to the bathroom to pee in a short period of time, very itchy little bumps on my skin that are not bug bites or related to stretch marks

Looking forward to:

Looking at more baby names with Jason! We still have a long way to go until we finish looking through the baby name book, but we're having a lot of fun with it!
